Los números son de las primeras cosas que necesitas dominar - aparecen en precios, horas, direcciones, edades y más. Hoy cubrimos del 1 al 20, la base para contar cualquier cosa.

Números del 1 al 12:

  • 1 one (uán), 2 two (tu), 3 three (zri), 4 four (for), 5 five (fáiv), 6 six (six)

  • 7 seven (séven), 8 eight (éit), 9 nine (náin), 10 ten (ten), 11 eleven (iléven), 12 twelve (tuélv)

Números del 13 al 20 (nota el patrón "-teen"):

  • 13 thirteen, 14 fourteen, 15 fifteen, 16 sixteen

  • 17 seventeen, 18 eighteen, 19 nineteen, 20 twenty

Diálogo de ejemplo:

A: How many children do you have?
B: I have three children. They are seven, eleven, and fifteen years old.
A: And how much is this? (señalando algo)
B: It's five dollars.

Errores comunes:

  • No confundas "thirteen" (13) con "thirty" (30): el acento cae en distinta sílaba y suenan parecidos para el oído hispanohablante.

  • Para la edad se usa "years old": "I am 25 years old", no solo "I am 25."

Practica:

  1. Cuenta del 1 al 20 en voz alta, sin mirar la lista.

  2. Di tu edad completa en inglés: "I am ___ years old."

  3. Escribe cuántos hermanos, hijos o mascotas tienes usando "I have ___."
